I have had horse for 15 years and I'm pleased to say I've never experienced thrush with any of my horses. My poor old lad had stinking feet last week- deffo thrush. He's out 24/7 and has his feet picked x 2 a day so it must be the wet weather causing it.

The feet have cleared up using iodine but a friend said something about using Peroxide- is it hydrogen Peroxide? Can you get it from a farm store like Countrywide or from the vets?

It is Hydrogen peroxide - you can get it from chemists.

Make sure you dilute first then syringe it onto the frog - it will froth slightly when you do it.

I have never diluted Hydrogen peroxide to put in their feet - I am sure it depends on the percentage strength you buy though? I am sure anything you buy from the chemists would be fine to use 'neat'. I think they sell it for the human variety too, as if you go in to buy lots of it, you do get quizzed a bit

Fizzes lovely though, and clears it up pretty quickly

I didn't get quizzed when I bought it?! Just followed the bottle instructions which said dilute it and also was told by friends to dilute it too
