Thrush in hooves - best way to treat

Tess has always had fab feet never had an issue with her until she had her suprise foal. Now they are on straw bedding but overnight little filly is very wet and although they are properly mucked out each day Tess has been standing in wet bedding for a few hours resulting in thrush

Any ideas welcome but please no nastiness, her feet are picked out everyday i think the combination of foal taking it out of her and being stood in wet bedding over night has not been great for her feet. This week both are out but at night when its lashing it down we don't have any other option

We have been scrubbing with salt water and a brush at the momnent idodine spray but like you we are no expert on this so wondered if there is anything that would be better

Anti Bac by Swan Products

Have been using it on my horses thrushy feet and the effect is amazing. Its a mix of Iodoform & Eucalyptus Oil. Only need a small ammount and just brush over the frog and into the cleft

I use Keratex hoof disinfectant. Can message you ingredients tomorrow if you want, bottle is at the yard. Worked for clearing my pony's thrush, you use a couple of drops 2/3 times a week.

You can get terymycin (sp?) Spray from vets, its basically for foot rot in sheep but fab for horses. Use twice a week but beware stains easily so you end up with green or blue hands lol.

Antibac stuff is fab, creature had awful thrush which was cleared up by this.

Have you considered a layer of eg wood pellets (I'd advise pre soaking in a wheelbarrow before laying in case Dolly thinks it's food!) under the straw or switching completely to pellets/shavings? It would be lots drier overnight. Megazorb is apparently very good too.

Thank you no we havn't to be honest and it's something that does need to be looked into. Dolly just wees for england ! leaving poor tess with a soggy bed rather quickly.
