Thrush

Human thrush cream (eg Canesten) I think comes in a titchy tube and would end up costing you a fortune Happy2Hack, unless you could convince your GP that you had a truly humungous infection and you qualified for free prescriptions!!! Or lived in Wales where all prescriptions are free {{smirk}}! My vet gave me a purple spray that seems to do the trick. Take care with it though as it stains everything it touches the same garish purple!

Diluted hydrogen peroxide (think I diluted it anyway!)...I used to use it and get a syringe (not a needle one!!!) and squirt it in to area with thrush...it used to work!!!

My horse has had thrush on and off for the past 6 months having never had it before! Advice from my farrier was wash area with something like hibiscrub, ensure the area is VERY dry then use either purple spray, hydrogen peroxide or foot rot spray (from the vet) let that settle in and then use stockholm tar.

I've never really heard of this treatment before and I know everyone has very differing opinions BUT a combination of foot rot spray and stockholm tar has really worked wonders for my horse, who touch wood hasn't had it now for a few weeks
