A friend asked me to go over to her place and look at her horse, she had been using Thuja cream on a small wart on his belly and the cream had caused a soft swelling in the area.
The horse did not appear bothered by it and friend wondered if this always happened. I have never used this cream, never had the need, but said I would ask on here. Friend wasn't sure whether to carry on using the cream or not but the wart seemed to have got a bit smaller according to her. Hoping someone can give some advice. Thanks

I've used thuja cream before, but not for... 10 years perhaps?

I used it for small sarcoids and it did help to a good degree. I don't remember there being any swelling, but there might've been a little. Horse never had any aversion to me applying the cream, even when loose, so I took that to mean it wasn't causing her distress in any way.

Not sure if that helps at all?

I suppose it can cause a reaction like anything you put on the skin really maybe do a patch test somewhere else and see what happens.T

As it could be the wart reacting to it.
Many thanks for the replies. I will pass on to friend. The swelling goes down quite a bit apparently when she rides him.
