Once again, the BBC should be ashamed of their 'token' Olympic dressage coverage… Congratulations to Discovery+ (or Eurosport?) presenter Nicky Barrett for her compelling, super-perceptive commentary, which managed to cater to both aficionados and complete newcomers. Having lost my own horse last year, I didn't think I'd ever follow dressage again, but she has changed that for me. Hats off to her too for being brave enough to mention that the glorious mare Freestyle was previously ridden by Charlotte Dujardin. Credit where credit is due…

I’ve really enjoyed Discovery as a whole, it’s been great that they’ve made literally all of every sport available. I’ve watched live, sometimes chosen to go back to the start and sometimes caught up the following day.

I’ve seen some criticism but I think the dressage coverage has been fine. Occasionally I would have preferred Nicky to allow some moments of silence but I get the whole point of commentary is to talk, and that’s just my preference. The pair of them did a good job.

On the Discovery app in the little captions bubble for choosing a language, I have the option International Sound which is ambient noise with no commentary. It was perfect for the freestyle earlier.

I paid £3.99 for discovery, it worked brilliantly for the xc but since then has fought back with a whole range of digital buffoonery!
Going in through fire stick, we’ve had ‘ no you need to sign in through your Amazon account’. For some reason, this was an ancient account I don’t use, so had the nausea of resetting everything through a very old email…
Now, it won’t offer me the option to sign in only to buy a new pass, while teasing me with a page of what I could watch!
I accept it’s partly my fault but it shouldn’t be this flaming difficult!

Yep I bought a month only too. The coverage has been very good. Who is going to watch the last ever pentathlon show jumping on the 8th?

It knows I’m fed up, I’ve gone in through prime video app🤷🏼‍♀️And it’s gone straight in after endless swearing and muttering…..

We already had it as part of our sky package, but I've loved the coverage, I've been able to watch loads of different sports from start to finish, without chopping and changing

Another who has enjoyed discovery plus. Just joined for the Olympics once I found out that BBC didn’t have the contract.
Followed all the Equestrian sports which have been well done. I really don’t like commentary during the freestyle dressage though, I like to hear how the music is interpreted.

We had discovery because MrGs bought it so his father could watch Football on his iPad I took no interest at all and only realised I could use it at the last minute I am a covert though the coverage has been great .
Nicky B was great best commentator I have heard for dressage she did need a gag for her companion who irritated me more and more as time went on .

I was enjoying the way they did athletics yesterday, there was a track event going on, and also the pole vault, if a key vault was coming up they'd show both at the same time by reducing the picture size and having them next to each other was great
