Farrier cut a little hole in the sole of his foot and it just flooded out. I'm so relieved...........

Thats great news. Will let you off the drama queen bit. When our donkey came in hopping lame (the first lameness in the 21 years I have owned him) I was convinced he had a broken leg

. Turned out it was an abscess in his hoof, which took a bit of clearing up as it eventually burst through coronary band but such a relief after fearing the worst. These animals do like to keep us on our toes don't they!

Anyway we all have the right to be a Drama Queen at some time, and what you have been through I think you have every right!

Better to be a drama queen and be prepared for the worst! When my mare came out of her stable 9/10 lame, I was very concerned yes but I wasn't distraught. That came 3 1/2 months later when the vet told me that she had done a tendon! I wish I had been more worried about tendons and had cold hosed it etc. but I was advised that it was probably an abcess and to poultice it. Never mind, what's done is done.
I'm glad Thumper is going to be ok!

Glad its not so serious AmyMay....... better in no time.... last horse I saw with an abcess looked like he had busted a hind leg.... could not weight bear at all, he had been fine the previous day!!!
 
Glad to hear that it is that and nothing worse. Nothing wrong with being over concerned - I am always worried if anything happens to Cairo, luckily Chancer has been fine to date so has not added to my grey hairs.
