Thunderbrook Horse Feeds? Anyone Used them

Question in the title really.

My horse is a bit like one of those children that suffers ADHT. Was reading more natural feeds/balancers don't have the fillers etc., that a lot do.

I was looking at the Thunderbook Essential Base Mix which you put a tiny bit in of apparantly with some Simple Systems Ruff Stuff or a haychop - unmollassed.

Anyone used Thunderbrook? Good bad or indifferent.
 
I was investigating them myself 18 months ago as my boy had EPSM. However, the lady gave me a very hard sell & basically said that if I didn't use her feeds, my boy would have a relapse & never be any good ever again...!! That scared me off, tbh.
 
Hmm, I was a bit concerned that might be the case. Thought I would do a bit of homework before I contacted her!! Thanks
 
I started using their feeds about 2 months ago. I did have an overly long conversation with their nutritionist, but I didn't feel I was being given the hard sell, just too much information! My boy has suffered from ulcers and can be quite irritable. He is also barefoot so I was trying to find a balancer that was mollasses free (and not powder like pink powder etc), and trying to cut mollasses out of his diet too, as that can cause footiness..so a bit of a tall order really as he's also a bit of a poor doer. All of that doesn't leave you many choices so I thought I'd give it a go, and I have to say he's never looked better. More importantly I have noticed an improvement in his general demeanor (less grouchy, more friendly), he feels like he's going better and his foot growth is improved. I am following the whole programme as it was recomended for him (if I'm going to give something a go I like to do it properly!), and am chuffed to bits with the results. At the end of the day it depends what you are aiming to achieve, but I do feel that it suits him better than his previous diet of hi-fi lite, high fibre cubes and top spec. No more expensive either....
 
Rang her yesterday and she was very informative. Asked me lots of questions that sort of fitted with the problems he experiences.

I have already cut out all mollasses in feed and currently give him Fast Fibre which I thought would be good for him. However, I think the oatfeed and wheatfeed doesn't do him any favours. Grumpy is how I would describe him, especially the first week in every month - WHY? - he is a gelding!!!!

It does actually make sense to me although initially I was horrified at the quantities and protein, but I don't think I have to feed so much.

Have ordered some blue bag grass nuts from Simple Systems (less good grass) and am trying to get hold of local rep to get some Thunderbrook base essentials - grr, two messages left, no response ........... Inevitably shall have to order direct and pay the carriage!!

I've been feeding the basemix for nearly 3 months and both of mine look fantastic on it,better temperment wise etc.
I was feeding them fast fibre for the younger one and veteran vitality with some calm and condition with good results but one of my horses has wld so decided to try thunderbooks. I have to order it direct, it turns up within a day :)
