I'm just coming to the end of my linseed, brewers yeast, magnesium, yea-sacc, metabolyte gold etc assortment that I feed to my good doer with a scoop of ossi-chaff and would like to try an "all-in-one" feed to save alot of faffing about adding a bit of this and a bit of that. I'm trying to decide between the Thunderbrook Essentials Base Mix which I've heard great things about or the Topspec Antilam which I believe is equally good. Any suggestions welcome :)

I haven't used both or done a proper comparison of vits & mins etc so my opinion isn't really terribly useful. However I've used TS AntiLam for years & think it's a fantastic product, I can't recommend it highly enough.

I think Top Spec anti lam has a really good profile, but I've heard that quite a few laminitics have gone footy on it, which would make me watch if yours is laminitic just in case.

I don't know much about Thunderbrook, but I think it's quite high in starch?

I find Benevit or Lo cal are decent (cheaper) alternatives if that's any help.

Should just add that Thunderbrook won't provide samples of their food. They only offer a 5kg Trial bag costing £9.50. Expensive if, like mine, yours mightn't eat it :(

I'd stick with Topspec. It's got a good reputation and they'll let you have a sample to try so you can see what you're getting before you commit and be sure your horse will eat it :)

I've not used Topspec but have just swapped to Thunderbrook, was a little worried as one of mine can be a bit fussy but they're licking their bowls totally clean. Give Debbie a ring and have a chat with her about what's in it/suitability etc.

Oops sorry, forgot I started this thread as have had other more pressing concerns of late :) Oh its such a minefield isn't it? Spyda, where did you see that Thunderbook do a 5kg bag for £9.50? Can't see this on their website, nearest thing is 10kg bag for £19 which is too expensive if ned doesn't like it. LucyPriory, what do you recommend then? Or stick with what I'm already feeding?
