I fed soaked just so it's easier to add his supplement. I feed dry as treats.
However, fear not! Due to another member of the yard, my horse managed to get himself into my feed store and helped himself to at least half a sack of these dry! It obs wasn't ideal but he came to no harm. X
Yes and no. If I've forgotten to make it I'll boil the kettle and use hot water. That soaks it in a matter of minutes and then I just leave it to cool down before use. But ideally In the evening I soak enough for the following day then split it into two buckets, If I'm leaving it over night to soak I use cold water.
I know for the Agrobs 16mm hay cobs, they recommend 1-3L of water to every 1L of cobs. They will soak in 15-20mins in cold water, and 5mins in hot water.
When you see how much volume they create when wet, you will always feed wet lol!
It makes me really cross that TB have no instructions on how to introduce hay cobs (i.e. very slowly if fed dry), or that there aren't any warnings regarding choke for elderly/horses with teeth issues.
Agrobs also say only to soak fresh, not to leave overnight as it deteriorates - can't remember exactly why/how but I always make it fresh, it doesn't take long.
