Devils advocate - all horses are effort to keep going to a level and maintain ! Whatever the level.. as I am noticing bringing my cob back in to work after a long wet winter.. might get some decent work out of her in 6-8 weeks... Make sure you like what "less talented" feels like to ride as alot of lower level stuff can be green and annoyingly behind the leg as a default ! A good bombproof 15HH+ cob would be atleast 10k (which little schooling as that size are rare). Clysdedale x cob gives you a bit more height to work with . (which most full typical cobs being under 15hh) I wouldn't have a tb for their terrible feet (own opinion from the 5/6 friends who have had awful trouble with them, walking vet bills!) and like to keep mine barefoot, ex huntmans are fantastic if you can find a good sound one. Overheight connie? IDx? Have fun horse shopping
