Thyroxine for dogs... Cost

Hi there, not that cost matters but its always nice to be prepared! My beautiful girl has just had the results through from histology, last week she had a partial thyroidectomy 50 % removal along with a lump, the other half has another lump, so we waited on the histology from the first growth. It's not all doom and gloom (I am trying to remain really positive on this!). It is cancerous, but we have caught it very early and it's a 'low grade' tumour, so the lab predicts that we have a very good chance of a good outcome (their words!) if we go in and remove the other half of the thyroid. Of course it could have spread, but then we can deal with that once the main culprit is removed. Anyhow, soon my girl will be popping pills for the rest of her days and I wondered, how much per day/week/yr would it cost? Does anyone else have a dog on thyroxine or happen to know?

Our old girl was on 1mg Soloxine, twice a day and it was around £40 a month.

Thank you just helps to be prepared... Bless her I hate that she has to go back in for another op... She can't stand the vets, I feel awful for her! But just want to get it over and done and get the other lump out of her now!

My lad had an under active thyroid so is on 0.7 mgs daily and it costs me about £15 a month. Once the levels were stabilised he is fine. A different dog ,he is 11 now.
