Hmmm hard to say really. Yes she has dropped, yes her vulva has dropped, yes her milk sac is slightly larger but she still seems quite happy holding onto it for the time being.
Shall we revise our date of say.....10 days time?
It's funny though - Dakota foaled 3 weeks early and Cloud is now running over a week late. The covering dates for both were absolutely correct so it's weird how individual each horse is.
Although I am laid back about it all; hubby is off back to England on Tuesday so we had to revise plans for getting him to the airport and he will also be away for a month so hoping that Cloud doesn't run into any problems birthing as there will only be me and little Megan to help her.
Thanks SD. I hope so too because we certainly don't have the immediate vet support that you guys have over there so she will just HAVE to make sure she does it all right.
Are you guys going to get the northeastern - that will slow things down. That is why I still think it happened on Friday, you are just not telling us as I will be like 'I TOLD YOU SO'
Can't remember how old Cloud is now, so you'll have to remind me.
I think in your shoes I'd only be really anxious if she was a young or particularly old maiden mare, which I don't think she is.
I also know just how special Cloud is to you, so I'm sure this adds to the anxiety*hug*
You'll be OK...you have confidence in your ability as a horsewoman, and as I'm sure you don't need me to remind you, the vast majority of foalings go ahead without a hitch.
Cloud has just turned 14 years old 2 weeks ago. She had a previous foal 10 years ago so no you're right, she isn't a maiden.
I don't forsee any problems but you never know. I do have confidence in little Cloud, she's not the type of pony to have things go wrong. No point me getting worried though; I'll just deal with whatever, if or when it happens.....at this rate it isn't going to happen any time soon LOL!!
Patches: yes blooming rain here. Well not really rain, more of a very light drizzle....that's worse I think.
