I don't post on here much, so most of you will have no idea who I am but hey any comments welcome.

I took my wbxtb out on sunday to a local dressage comp and he was a real prat. He is such a talented horse (as said by two very well known dressage folk) but he has a real attitude problem. He is called Spritely, and lives up to his name, but everytime we go out he is such an arse I am finding it hard to keep it up. He hasn't been out alot so do you think it will get better the more we go? The stupid thing is he is not spooky, just very full of himself. He is the same showjumping to.

I'm starting to think I need to find a calmer to take the edge off. He is the same at home, although has not reared in a while.

Some pics from Sunday.

Its an orange warmblood thing

my fruitloop of a westphalian would do this

and the only way to stop it was to work him very hard in the warmup so he was too knackered to mess about-

made it hard work for me though

I recon he'll grow out of it, my boy was a complete nightmare for the first year took him to shows. Still can be an arse, but much better now!

You could try a calmer, my boss uses them on her eventer as he can be very cheeky. I think its called Nuprafeed.

Hope all works out, well they do say the most talanted ones are the tricky ones!

Smart looking horse! Bet he'll get better, I'd try and ignore it

rather than making a big deal of it, I presume he's a youngster? By all means try a calmer, I use Nupafeed too and find it good but there are plenty of others people swear by too, but it may just be high jinks! Well sat BTW

How old is he?

I would say that the more you go out and do things the more he should get used to it and just knuckle down.

By all means, put him on some calmer to see how he goes, it's always worth a shot.
