Tick-miraculosly dissapeared!!

I had tweezers, matches and TCP at the ready but when I went to find it it had gone!! (was looking forward to it!

) There is a small wound type thing where I thought it was, so popped some TCP on that, but I thought ticks stayed put!?! Can they be ripped off by something, including the head?
No-one else in the house has removed it, though it could be someone else. Unlikely though, as he's too shy to be caught.

Any ideas?

Could it be possible that the tick had taken as much blood as it needed and dropped off? I think that is what they usually do but I may be wrong.

I don't think so as it was quite small. What is their "growth rate"? Because it had been a day or two since I last saw him.

Mmm I think they possibly take longer than a couple of days to gorge them selves

I always used to pick out ticks and fleas when i was about 6 yrs olz, don't ask me why!!

the tick will be in you carpet somewhere - one fell off my dog on my bed, luckily I found it before it found me. ticks on humans is not a good look
