We are looking at going to YHL this year instead of HOYS as the shopping has gone down hill and we didnt find any good deals last year. We are mainly wanting to shop, but we also like watching performances

I was looking at the shopping only ticket as it looks like we can still watch the performances?

Do you recommend YHL or shall we stick with HOYS?

I can't talk to HOYS as haven't been in years, but we were disappointed by the shopping at YHL last year. Lots of cheap tat and the few things I did want to buy were cheaper elsewhere. Thankfully Carl Hester's masterclass more than made up for it!

I have been going to YHL since it first started as the equine event. Over the years the shopping had definitely declined, lots of cheap end of stock, hardly any bargains of decent quality. It’s worth it for demos but not shopping imo.

What Follysmum said. I've been going since it first began (in it's original format of British Equine Event) and you used to be able to get all sorts of great offers. The last few years not so much. I go now as I think the ticket price is good value for the demos but don't really do much beyond a courtesy mooch of the stands tbh.

I've gone the last 2 years and I did enjoy it....and I did get a few nice bits from the shopping which I found much better than Olympia. I managed to nab a LM Tweed set which was probably the buy of the day, but only as I got in at 8:30am thanks to the VIP tix

The shopping is certainly better than HOYS. I always find the horse health stand bargains, worth the lengthy checkout queue, also had a Pikeur show jacket drastically reduced.
You have to be savvy and realise there is an awful lot of tat.
I also enjoyed the demos but would recommend reserved seating as its like a stampede!
