tie or stock for working hunter ? my horse doesnt like a pelham can i ride him in a snaffle or will i get marked down ? he goes well in a bubble bit can i use one of them what will be best ? doing a working hunter on sunday and dont want to look silly :o:o:o

If its a small local show you'd probably get away with most things!

You are supposed to be showing a horse that would be a good mannered, nice ride out hunting, so really the horse should be in the less fussy tack possible - so snaffle, no martingale etc to show that it is an easy ride. People will ride in them, but would be marked below those in snaffles.

A tie or coloured stock would look really smart with a hacking jacket for working hunter. If you only have a white stock and it's a local show then I wouldn't worry too much about buying a new one though as the performance of you and your horse will be much more important.

I think a snaffle will look better than a pelham but bubble bits are a definite no no.

Good luck and enjoy the show!
