Tie or stock with tweed jacket at local show?

I want to get some mileage out of my hardly worn tweed jacket :D

For Riding Club Horse, do I wear coloured shirt and tie as with Working Hunter please?

Also, should I plait for Riding Club Horse or Working Hunter? And can I get away with brown boots with my green jacket, or do I have to wear black ones?

Can I wear tweed for the Best Turned Out class?

Ok plenty of questions there!

I would always always always wear a shirt and tie with a tweed jacket for showing - you sounds like you have the kit for WH already?

Whether you plait depends on whether you have a M & M breed or some sort of traditional cob. If you do, don;t plait, if you have pretty much any other type, then do plait.

Are your boots long or short?

If they are long they shoudl really be black, though brown have been creeping in recently, they are not correct. If they are short, they should be brown. You can wear short boots if you riding a pony.

oh and yes you can wear tweed for BTO. But keep bridle etc plain (ie not a flashy brow band)
 
brown bots with tweed is technically correct anyway.... although maybe not fashionable ;)
tie and shirt for WH - plaited too - unless an M&M
best turned out = think you show as type - same as veteran
Riding club horse - no idea i'm afraid :o maybe as type again?!

ETA - saw about about brown boots and tweed - i suppose i'm talking traditionally rather than with showing ;)
 
My horse is tb x id and looks particularly beautiful plaited (of course I'm not biased :p).

"Boots" are either brown or black gaiters as much smarter than my MH ones.
 
From the info you have given on your post and that you may be doing few classes.

Plait up.

Nice smart shirt (I like cream or pale blue...depending on the colour of the tweed and your tie) and a tie pin.

Leather gloves (brown or black, again depends on the colour tack, your hat and what goes with your tweed jacket)

Tweed will be fine for BTO classes, providing you are very smart and clean, alot of tweed jacket look very smart however some don't, hence why a blue jacket would sometimes look better, also depends on the type of horse your on too.
 
Kenzo, are you in agreement that I can wear brown gaiters?

The tweed jacket is smart cos it's hardly ever used :o

Smart brown gaiters matched up with the same colour joddy boots will look fine, even more so with a green tween jacket and brown leather gloves.

Gaiters are not as smart as your typical long black boots for BTO classes but if its only local then I really wouldnt worry about it, you probably won't be the only one neither, infact many of the brown gaiters do actually look devilishly smart i think.

I would wear the same as working hunter, shirt could be a cream colour, or light canary colour, you can get away with canary shirts but does depend on the jacket! Tie to match shirt and jacket

I would plait for both, unless your horse is M&M type, or a cob, in which case should really be hogged unless a traditional

I would ideally wear black boots, however if its just local shows, and the brown boots are smart and clean you could probably get away with it.
