My horse just got diagnosed with PSD (basically done his hind suspensory ligament!). Been considering all my options and not really happy about putting him through the surgery (he is very nervy/tense horse and nerve blocking just about upset him for a week after!).
Anyway shock wave is only 40% successful so wont bother with that. Other options were cortasone injections or tildren (equidronate) both are 50% successful.
Because he has over compensated everywhere else vet said the tildren option would be good as would help the rest of him.
Anyone experienced tildren (equidronate)? what was it used for? I understand there is a risk of collic, did this happen? was it successful?
Thank you!
