tildren side effects

my 14 yr old boy had steroid injections in his hocks for arthritis and a Tildren infusion a month ago. On the day of the treatment I noticed he was very itchy on his shoulder. A couple of weeks later he has some bumps and is still very tender in that area. I know of one horse that has had nerve damage due to Tildren. Has anyone else had similar experiences please? (other than that the hocks are great and he is sound so thumbs up for the injections)

Not sure if it is related, but my horse, soon after having a tildren infusion, developed a white line down her shoulder and the only thing we can think is that it is related. You can see it in this pic

thanks for this ... can you tell me, did you see any lumps and was she very sensitive to being touched along the line? how long ago was it, has anything changed since then?
hope the infusion worked - guess it was for arthritis or something similar?

Interesting... My boy had tildren infusions several years ago (stopped them as they stopped helping him) and he had colic within a few hours every single time despite being given drugs to try and prevent it. Nothing like what you describe though

my horse displayed colicky symptoms each of the three times he had tildren, the last time requiring a vet to come out. Each time he wee'd in his stable for England! He was also very down and depressed.

He never had any reaction like nerve damage or skin problems though.

PS there is a much better solution to Tildren if you find it is not the solution you were hoping for which is relatively new on the scene and it is fusion of the hock joints using ethanol. The alchohol (usually 97% proof) is injected into the hock joint space using xrays and instantly kills the nerves in the hock. Fusion takes place approx 18 months to two years later. My horse could lift his hind legs so much higher the next day, and it jumping very, very well at the moment. You might like to consider it for next time.
