Well, Rosie is rapidly approaching 5 months old now. She is turning into a brilliant little dog. I don't know what it is with me, but I can't get any of my kids, ponies or horses and now dogs to grow to what I thought they should!!! I am not complaining, I don't mind having the small ones, but I thought her paws and her tail were so big a few weeks ago, that I convinced myself she was going to be big... she's got long, but not tall - YET!
Anyway, house training isn't yet 100%, only due to some days when she is left for 4 hours, we have a wee. That's it! She is crated at night with no issues. I've been taking her to work, and she hasn't put a paw out of place. She is much admired by all who meet her - I feel sorry for the old dog as she is getting so over-looked. We had a funny moment yesterday when one of the smaller students had a teddy bear, and this teddy bear was having a ride on the swing... but it didn't stay on this swing, it went for a flying lesson!! - caught by Rosie who then proudly showed off her new catch....to the gardener who was passing before ever so gently dropping it back at the little girls feet, waiting for the next 'throw'! ( I haven't taught her to catch, nor did I ask her to leave it, she just did).
Her manners at walk times are fantastic, she doesn't pull in any way, and if she does put a paw in front, I lightly cough, and she reverses back into place!! Her recall is pretty good - only distracted by rabbit poo it seems! In our local field we meet other dogs, including another male springer. He is somewhat unruly, about a year old, and Rosie has been so good in 'rounding him up, and bringing him back to his owner', who can't catch him, and has no recall at all.
I am in short, very proud of her. I apologise SO much for my much earlier vented feelings towards her. (Now, just to replace the flooring, and the little wall-paper chewed hole...!)
Photos;
Out on a 'family' walk... bit damp!
Exploring a walk at work;
Good friends with 'Auntie Pebbles'! (Pebbles is 3yrs + , inlaws dog)
Umm, whose been on the wood chip pile??!!
Walking with buddies;
