Just after some advice........my 20 year IDxTB was diagnosed with cushings 5 weeks ago following a routine check up with the vet where I mentioned that she was really larthargic and extremly hard to get moving (she is semi retired only used for hacking 2-3 times a week) and is now on prascend, although she has perked up in herself she is still really hard work and I feel like i'm constantly 'pony club kicking' her when we hack out which is not enjoyable for either of us!

I've had her feet and legs checked also. The vet has now advised feeding her a high energy feed to see if this helps but I'm not sure this is the answer.......am I expecting too much too soon in regards to her ridden work and being on medication? Has anyone had a similar experience?

Sometimes it takes the prascend a few months to kick in. I would give her a few weeks or months off and then try her again. I rode my mare for the first time in almost 3 years on Monday. She was bright and perky. She's been on prascend now for 8 months and looks back to her old self. Loads of people have comented on how well she looks. So I wouldn't write your girl off just yet.
