Ok ... I need a goal / focus for this year for me and my pony, and fancy trying something new.

We've doing ok at dressage this year, and have done well at showing (working hunter pony) - pony isn't too happy show jumping at the mo - think he just needs a rest.

Any ideas on what we could focus on this year competitively. I fancy showing classes - possibly not WHP as I don't like being in with all the kids. Also thought combined training comps as we do well at those.

I'm in my 30's - pony is 14.1

Just wondered if anyone could think of something different I'd not thought of.

i was going to suggest le trec, or home made working equitation stuff-brilliant fun

Have you thought about Endurance? I think they start from around 8 miles in length for pleasure rides and about double that for competitive rides. Try sportendurance.co.uk they're a friendly bunch.

Trec does look like good fun, I've been to one event and there was a real mix of types of horses and experiences of riders. The horses you think will do well don't always - there is such a mix of skills required that not many horses/riders are good at everything, so its prety fair for everyone overall.
