Why is it that when you are selling a horse or have one for loan , that you get people ring up that clearly have not read the advert .
Or people coming down to see and try the horse who have lied about what they can do ?
And I have spent the last few weekends get my boy ready to be veiwed by people who are clearly not novices as they said , why do they do this ?

They are NOT novices? Perhaps they are better riders than they think they are? Why would you object to selling to a more experienced home? How does that make them time wasters? Coming to see a horse with NO intention to buy is timewasting, I must be missing something

I ment they are clearly not ready to buy a horse or own a horse that is sold as a novice ride , they have said in their own words I have had a few lessons and I have desided to buy myself a horse . I have no problem with someone buying him who is a better rider than me , as maybe they can get more out of him .

I am currently looking for a horse and when i go to try it I get really nervous and turn to jelly and can't pop the horse over a tiny jump!

I'm not a novice as I've been riding for 18 yrs and previously owned a horse.

If people are looking to buy a horse, they have to feel it is the right horse for them? if you are selling a horse surely you would want it to be happy with it's new owner?

The issue the op appears to have is not so much with the riding of viewers, it's the care side. Novices turning up who op says have had a few lessons and decided to buy a horse, different ball game then.

I've sold the odd horse in my time due to necessity and most people are really nice, you get the odd person who clearly wants a day out and is not interested or just interested in getting a really knock down horse ie slagging it off completely!!
I don't envy people who sell horses for a living

Hi! New here, so please bear with me!!!! Thanks

I am currently looking for a horse for a rider who is NOT a novice, but does get nervous especially when trying horses. Unfortunately, the worst is people who advertise horses as novice rides when they are clearly NOT!!

When I was looking for a horse last year I looked at loads, and some of them I went back twice, one I even put a deposit down on and then backed out. The thing is I had bought the wrong horse twice, and this time it had to be right. So I guess I was a big timewaster to alot of sellers, but I am not sorry for that, its a very big decision to make and it has to be right. In the end I bought Liri so I'm glad I did alot of timewasting and didn't rush into anything.

Last horse i just sold advertised @ 16hh which he was.
girl came out tried him once, loved him and wanted to come back next day in day light to hack him out.
Came out next morning,. jumped him again and hacked him out then said he was too big as she was used to her 14,2.
I was like....he hasnt grown over night!!!!!!! ARGHHHHH
