bit of a rant really, but as this happened to anyone else, i had 2 viewings of my cob on sunday. both was really nice, 1 came am the other pm, both seemed very interested and asked me me for local vets names to have a possible vetting done, i would have been happy for him to have gone to either one of them, anyway it is now friday, and not one of them as been back in touch, even to say they are not having him.

they both said they would ring me later that day or the monday, second lady even asked if i would keep him for her while she went on holiday, to which i agreed to do

I'd chase them up and just say you have other people interested and wanted to know if they still were!

[/ QUOTE ] i texted one lady yesterday to ask if there was a reason why she had not contacted me to let me know either way, got no reply

I'm afraid I would class them as timewasters, why people say such things is beyond me, why can't they just say that he's lovely but not for me, at least then you know where you stand.

I recently sold mine and a lady said all the right things, came to try him 3 times , left a small deposit- a cheque, asked if I would keep him until the middle of July, daughter came up and rode him, yes lovely can't wait to get him home, the next day I returned from work to a message saying that they have cancelled the cheque and changed their minds- eh!.

Their loss , the most bizzare thing about it was the fact that they offered to have him on loan if I couldn't sell him- No I don't think so.

What is it with people - I had a couple of people come to look at my 15.1hh TB. He is a little green with his jumping but otherwise a very good 6 yr old. I have been totally honest with everyone that calls, he would make a fab all rounder or PC horse but not the next Badminton winner. Two people that turned up could barely ride and used his mouth to rise (bless him he was perfect with them and even jumped beautifully for them)and then the 3rd rode beautifully. She realy liked him and then bought her friend back who then slated him for just about everything as apparently they wanted to event him to intermediate level(having told me that she wanted something to do RC dressage on)!!!! They then turned round and said they wouldn't buy him but could they loan him??? If I wanted to loan him I think I would have advertised him as a loan horse. Anyway one of the beginners bounced around on him so much he has pulled a muscle so is having a little rest in the field. I'm never selling another horse ever again

This is exactly why I have only been to try one horse so far. Unless I am damn nearly certain to want it I wont go and try it. I hate the look on peoples faces if you turn up to view a horse immediatly find its not what you expected. last time I was horse-hunting I went to see a pretty 16hh bay that must have been stood on its owners boot puller when measured and the middleweight looked anorexic. When I wouldnt ride it as I saw no point they were evil. If I am not interested I say so.

It's sounds like they have decided he's not the horse for them although they should at least have had the manners to tell you. Timewasters !

[/ QUOTE ].i would rather people say they are not interesred, for the sake of the horse, i think it is more polite to tell the truth. that way you know where you stand.

It's really frustrating isn't it? But it does work the other way too, I've been to see horses which are so far from described you wonder if it the same horse!

Hopefully you will find the right buyer soon.

Buying and selling is a nightmare. Its very annoying when you drive hundreds of miles to see something not as described, or something that obviously won't pass the vet and the owners are lying through their teeth about its soundness

Oh, tell me about it!
Sellers lie all the time! Well, that's a bit harsh, I know, but buying and selling is a complete nightmare.
It makes the dealers yard seem a safe option! At least they take them back!
