I left the UK, family and friends to be with my OH 
he was the one who encouraged me to go back to horse riding, it helped me settle down in my new life and make friends and whatnot. He thinks it's good that I go to the yard because I work from home and would never get out of the house otherwise. He's also occupied with his own hobbies which are a bit more expensive than mine so that helps balance any arguments on that front 
Occasionally we both take a bit of a break and do something together and that seems to work.
