I did have a PM from the Times but have only just replied. Would have been nice to have been asked before it went to print but I hope what I said brings some comfort to Emma's family and friends.
Thanks for your kind words above Weezy - fortunately I also haven't said anything that I would have been worried about having published - still a shock to find that my words have been used in the National Press ! I'm old enough to know better than to be shocked
Thank you for your coments Teasel. So often in these situations people can judge the riders. Emma is a dear dear friend and those of us who know and love her know she is not only a beautiful gracious person but an amazing accomplished rider and an accident like this is a terrible tragic fluke through no fault of hers. Em had just been selected for the CIC ** GB olympic squad an acheievment she worked hard for and wholly deserved such an accolade.
It was also comforting to read the post of the chap who had looked through her results - as you will see she is a hugely talented person and there is no justification as to why this should happen to her.
There is a huge void in our lives that can never be replaced, I don't know anyone quite as wonderful as Emma and I know I never will again.
Love always my dearest Em,
Kels
