Thought my horses might like a night in as its been raining, so OH v kindly offered to go get them. Left the stables made up from earlier so I didn't go out again.
Asked him just now if he'd made sure the bolt on the end stable was safe as itd been slipping and he said 'oh I didn't use the end one, I put them both in the same stable because they were all wet and I thought they might like to nestle in together.'
After I'd picked myself up off the floor I dashed outside imagining the worst, to find my 2 lovely kind boys completely happy, lying down in the straw together looking very very cute, and just like 2 little chicks in a nest. As the stables are 14x16 I just put done more hay in and left them to it.
Such a lovely thing to see! It's made my night, I could have sat out there listening to them munching on the straw and sighing all night.
Little things like that remind me how lucky I am to have them - and why we bother with all the hard work, expense and time!
