Timewasters!!!

I've just sold a horse and had genuine people come and see him, who he just wasn't right for, I wouldn't class them as timewasters, I had people come and see him who never got back in touch to let me know one way or the other - they are annoying, then I had a couple who made an offer, got him vetted which he passed, then change their minds at the last minute, I classed them as timewasters as I was very upset as I truly thought he had found a perfect home.

He has now gone to a fab new home with someone who loves him warts and all, and has stayed fairly local too, but I would say that the market is very tough at the moment, as another poster has said, its a buyers market, but I'm sure the pony will find the right home :)

How dare you call me a time waster if you had been honest in the first place this would never have happened. You are the time waster.

I think they're just putting feelers out - nowt wrong with that.

What makes me laugh is the way some are advertised (obv, not in this case though)and then when you view, they have absolutely no resemblance to the advert and can in fact, be directly opposite:D!

I was horse hunting last year and viewed 7 horses, all of which were possibles on paper obviously bought the 7th).

I liked them all to some degree and *really* liked 4 of them and told the sellers so. That's what you say when you like a horse a lot. It doesn't mean that it is the one you are going to buy.

You go away and talk to other people whose judgment you value and try to think with your sensible head on. So no, I don't think these people who viewed the pony were time wasters at all. They were actually being careful to buy the right pony for the child.

Sandy20 - Sleepy Kitten mentioned no names in her post....looks to me that you just wish to start an argument.

Yes, I think Sandy20 you'd have been better just letting this past. You can't know it was about you as no names were given (no-one but SleepyKitten really knows who it was).

You're obviously cross but what's to be gained by this tit for tat?

I hate adverts that 'shout' about no timewasters it comes across rude. I usually give a few compliments after viewings about the horse and follow up afterwards whether I am still interested, I think as the search goes on others get eliminated even if you liked them at first, and thank god as sometimes we think we have to 'settle' for things that might be too difficult. I tried some a bit younger than I wanted, but its whether they really act it, and some older who act younger!

I think buying a horse is a bit like speed dating, just because you've sat down and exchanged information doesn't mean its going to be a long term meaningful relationship.
I like my ponies and if someone is unsure I would far rather they backed out than took away something that they are not right for.
This is my favorite though, a foal that 'sold' three times
