Tiny hoof boots for shetlands?

Morning,

Nev the super shetland is busy being a medical mystery and dispite being rather on thin side for a shetland her body apparently thinks she is fat. She's already on box rest with soaked rinsed hay on diet rations so all that's left is excercise but she has very thin soles and the only places round here to walk her are stoney tracks/roads so she'd like some wee booties if anyone knows of a good brand that make them in shetland sized? She's a standard 40" shetland so not super tiny but still very titchy of foot :)

Elle for what you want them for the Easyboots would be better, they will be far easier to get on and off straight from the box as the Renegades need adjusting. Renegades are more of a performance boot and and probably a bit over the top for just walking on paths in hand. If you have any doubts though speak to Liz at the Hoof Boutique, she is brilliant and may have other alternatives.

Hope Nev recovers soon, sending get well vibes from the yard mini who is now off box rest and in a small paddock.
 
I have recently bought 2 pairs of hoof boots, one for a mini shetland and one for a mini horse, both for different reasons, both only used for a fairly short time but will always be useful in the future so I don't feel I have bought something to just sit in the tack room

I bought Easy boot for one and Equine Fusion All Terrain for the other

What I found was sizing was so important and once you size them up, the boots I quite liked the look of would not have fitted so well, so once you have taken the size you then can look at what is available, both I found really easy to put on but if I was going out on rough ground or whatever the Equine Fusion All Terrain would be perfect but may not be the right fit for your one

Sizing is so easy and the retailers will even do it for you, just send in photo's with the tape laying across width and length + a good angle shot, tell them what you want to use them for and they tell you what choices you have in the ponies size, its just like taking them into a Clarks shoe shop to get the size but by photo's and email :)

But just wanted to ask if she has been tested for metabolic issues?

Yes she's a bit of a weirdo so even though she not got EMS and is thin she is low in one hormone that means her body thinks she's obese. She also may or may not have cushings as was borderline. Vet speaking to endocrinologist about her Monday :) She's very special

I have one who is thin but his body thinks he is fat, hard work aren't they but as you say they are very special, mine acts riggy on occasions but only at certain times
