I have tried the webbed grass reins but little pony can still put head down and little rider hasn't the strength to stop him. Today put baling twine from saddle straight to bit and hey presto, pony found he couldn't put head down and went beautifully and big smiles on little rider .
I would like some leather side reins which have adjustment from a buckle half way down but can't seem to find what I want except in site from USA.
Help?

you could make your own grass reins with some thick black cord onto 2 little clips each end one end to bit up through browband and back onto saddle d rings! if you have a good saddler/repair person they could make a pair of side reins up from an old pair of plain leather reins! prob cheaper (and fit better) than a pair of off the peg side reins! grass reins work better than side reins to prevent picniccing!!!

Thank you both, I have found the grass reins no good at all but the side reins I made with baler twine was fine. Think I have found some on ebay but have asked the minimum length they go to as he is very small.
