These pics were taken last month.

I love this horse so much, all of this is such a bonus considering what he's been through.

Ah Persissa, look at your wonderful miracle boy, he is absolutely beautiful. I had hoped to get to the Nationals this year, but it's not going to happen.
I was told to expect Fire to go pure white but as she get older she is getting more and more fleabitten speckles.
I took some terrible photos of Celebrity last night, the camera was on the wrong setting when I grabbed it! He's been a bit "not right", but I think he's recovered?
(Quick quiz for the Arab people who don't know... now who's son do you think this might be??).

Thank you for your lovely comments :)

I can't see photo's on this PC so I will have to look tonight!

Dennis isn't pure white either although he looks it in the pictures, he gets more fleabitten every year too.

Gugglebum, there is so much it is hard to condense it! He got kicked, developed a cyst inside his shoulder joint, was operated on, brought back into work, cyst came back, thought I was going to lose him, he had IRAP and a lot of other treatments, gave him a year off, mother nature did her stuff, brought him back into work, got a huge abcess, brought back into work again. Started competing year before last, sent him to a professional producer which turned out to be a mistake, took him home, lots of treatment, brought back into work again and not looked back since - fingers crossed.

It's just wonderful to see Dennis out and about after all he's been through. He really is a special boy. Interesting that he's fleabitten as well. Fire's breeder expected her to go white, like Crystal Sheen and Crystal Silver, but she's taking much more after her mum Someone Special.

WOW he looks fabulous! Haven't you ever even a little tempted to show him?

I saw Sheen last year and she didn't come through the winter too well bless her. She is snow white. Dennis has taken after his mum too as she is fleabitten, dad is snow white...

He is beautiful - how old is he?

Is Dennis his registered name? I thought Arabs had to have authentic sounding names - mine does anyway!

Yes, Dennis is very like his dad, gorgeous.

Temptation, that's an excellent guess! My Celebrity is Celebrity Psyche. He's a son of Padron's Psyche (so half brother to Magnum Psyche). Tobago is a Padron's Psyche grandson.
I don't really want to show him Perissa, the show scene's not for me, and he's such a relaxed little man these days, I'm happiest just having him as a rather exotic hacking horse.

:-)

p.s. Perissa, are you going to divulge Dennis's registered name to the folks?

I thought he looked like a Psyche baby (although I wasn't sure which one) and is very gorgeous. :) I used to work with Judals Magnum Psyche before he was gelded.
Perissa, I remember reading about Dennis and he looks totally lush and healthy. Best wishes to you both.

I can't begin to imagine, what a journey. I guess it makes his health and happiness all the sweeter - very hope giving & inspirational to those struggling with their horses long term health issues. Here's to continued good fortune :)

I couldn't answer the question because I knew and didn't want to spoil it for everyone else. I remember seeing his advert on AL and thought WOW. More and more shows are doing traditional showing classes, NO whirling and twirling allowed, might be more your cup of tea......

Dennis's registered name is Ecuador :)

Thank you fidleyspromise and gugglebum (fab name!)

What is truely amazing about Dennis is his temperament, he has had a awful lot of treatment yet he still greets the vet as a friend. In fact he has no concept of anyone not being his friend. He's like a big dog and would climb in your lab if he could!

Yes def a Tobagoling :D
Both are gorgeous :D
Can I ask, why people ride for showing without doing up the chin straps? Surely as well as not wearing a hat at all the amount of protection that would give if you fell off? :)

Most professionals wear Beagler's which do not have chin straps. You can normally spot the amateur riders by the hat they wear!

Hope yours has a much nicer nature then tabago! :)

:mad: You have proof to substantiate that quote do you? Know him personally?

What would you do if someone insinuated that your pony (do you have one, I haven't bothered to look you up yet) had a dodgy nature?

I hope Tinypony does not mind me saying that Celebrity is definitely NOT a tobagoling.

To quote - He's a son of Padron's Psyche (so half brother to Magnum Psyche). Tobago is a Padron's Psyche grandson.

Sorry to hijack your post, but could you tell me what IRAP is and what other treatments he had. A friend's horse has just been diagnosed with a cyst in the shoulder joint. This is apparently a very rare condition.
Beautiful beautiful horse by the way.

Yes I worked at the yard he's kept last summer and saw/looked after him on a daily basis! Stunning to look at but not the nicest pony you'll come across!

I will but may I tell you later as I'm about to go out for the afternoon and yes its very rare.

Ah, my mistake, I see you said Tabago, and one could hardly call HTobago a pony really ;)
