I have a recent addition to my herd (been her about 2 months) and she is fab in all ways except she tips over her water bucket. This is usually in protest of not being put out on time or being made to wait. She can’t go out first as it then riles up my most dominant mate. We started putting her water bucket in a larger bucket filled with water and bricks but today she managed to throw the whole thing across her stable! Her stable is new and doesn’t have automatic drinkers yet and I don’t really want to switch her stable. Any other tips/ideas etc?

Take bucket or trug to local tyre fitters, they will be only too happy for you to have a couple of tyres that it will fit in snugly.
You could securely lash 2 together, you could mix up a bag of concrete to go inside the lower tyre for more weight.

Pse don't use the wall clip ones, I've helped patch up injuries from them.

Big trug, tie ring low down on wall and one of those carabiner clips with the screw. You need the screw type so you don't risk lip piercings or other modifications, and the trug needs the basic handles, so they'll snap if necessary. Just fill up with smaller buckets or a hose and undo to take out for cleaning. Worked for my youngster.

Senior mare still does this in the stable at age 24yo if the standard of service falls below her expectations 🙄🤣. I’ve owned her for 22 years.

She is much less likely to do it if I position her buckets at the back of the stable instead of by the door at the front. So that’s what I normally do, except currently the young swallows are lining up just above that spot.

So currently a choice of clean but tipped over buckets, or buckets full of both water and swallow poo.

I have one I can’t trust with a water bucket in the stable.

He has a Stubbs corner feed manger that we use as a water bucket instead.

I've had two who dd this as a protest at being 'late' out.

I padlock the trugs to the wall. A combination padlock, so I don't have to find a key.

That said, now he has a patio as well as the stable area, he has stopped doing it!

Putting the bucket in a tyre works well
