Tips for mane regrowth? clipping incident!

My mum very kindly clipped my welsh cob today but accidently took off part of his mane near the topline. I would say it is about half way done and extends for about half of his neck for about a 1cm width.

It looks fine at the moment but sadly I know it will grow upwards in a lovely bushy way soon (mums accidently done it before but to a much smaller area!) The problem is, I show him and he will have his first 'bigger' show at the end of May. Does anyone have any tips for anything I can put on it to help it grow?!! I'm desperate for anything that will help it grow to an acceptable length that will atleast not stick up vertical! I have read some threads on here about megatek, aloe vera etc but just looking for ideas for what is best for what is essentially a hogged bit of mane!!

Years ago we used to use cornucrescine for hair growth, but putting some mild mustard mixed with vaseline on does the same job - still messy though!
 
Totally agree with cornucrescine (sp?), I often use it on healed wounds to promote hair regrowth. If you put it on for a few weeks you'll see a difference in your own fingernails so you know it works!!
 
Depending on what colour his mane is....! - Cornucrescine is fab for hair regrowth. I used to use it on my boy and the speed it grew back was amazing. But it is a dark brown/black colour so not ideal if your horse is grey ;)
Alternatively there's megatek (which smells amazing) x

I wasn't convinced that Megatek actually did anything for my horse apart from make a sticky mess so I took it home and I use it on my own hair instead :eek: Love the smell! :D:D:o

ETA, my horse got to keep her cornucrescine though, I'm not smearing that on my barnet.
