Sorry, didn't phrase it well. Look for the jump on the turn but then don't stare at it as you ride towards it. Pick something past it to look at. If you stare at the jump rather than riding over it they're much more likely to stop.
Get a good rhythm going into the fences and try to keep her stride constant, except for if you see a stride and need to change it. If you feel like it's going wrong bring her back to trot to get yourselves re-balanced.
Have fun
If your horse is forward to a fence, then don`t let the contact go when you use your leg. You need both together to keep him going forwards into a nice contact.
If your horse isn`t forward, just get a nice canter and kick.
