Tips for warming horses bit up?

It has suddenly turned really cold here! whilst tacking up this morning I went to put Kleo's bridle on when i realised how cold her bit was!! I tried to warm it up in my hands thinking how awful for her to have that thrust into her mouth on such a cold morning. I have wondered about bringing a flask to the stable to warm it first - but have any of you any other tips?

Ha Ha! There is NO WAY i could do under the underwear thing - It was freezing when i held it in my hand this morning - i reckon I'd wet myself with the shock if I tried that!!!!

Ride bitless? I also feel cruel putting ice cold steel in my horses mouth - it'd make my teeth ache if someone did it to me!!
What about wrapping it in one of those hand warmer thingies?

I usually sit in the tack room reading h&h before tacking up so just sit on it, seems to do the trick! Could you maybe wrap it in a scarf or get those pocket hand warmers to warm it up a bit beforehand?

I bring the tack into the house when it gets cold or i do put the bit inside my jumper...... i take the chill off it first by holding it in my hands....

run it under some warm water? Or there are hollow metal bits or other types of metal which warm up faster
