Hmmm so the RSPCA will pay all vet bills and all care requirements to the Donna lady who actually went to collect the foal?

Ha ha... And in the real world........ :D

I agree... Their 'assistance' will no doubt be restricted to popping up (unexpectedly?) sometimes to check he's still got a pulse... Oh, and to perhaps release more statements about how the foal in their care is progressing...

I know... I'm having a bit of a cynical old witch day today... Again... :o :D

But he wasnt place into the care of the RSPCA was he???

That makes out they took him into there care and transported him to one of their facilities but that didnt happen!! Totally misleading statement!!!

They have gone even FURTHER down in my estimations after that statement!!

very tenuous version of the truth! Shameful and they should be exposed for it!!

Why do the national media not stand up to them?

Don't know if anyone has seen yet, but if you wanted to donate a pound or so via paypal the email address is

wayne.bowen@btinternet.com

as you can imagine they are going to be incurring a decent amount of vet's fees as well as paying for wormers, louse treatments, feed, rugs, straw etc etc etc so if anyone can spare a pound i'm sure they would be really grateful. They're also asking for any old rugs/headcollars etc etc for foals, any small sizes as they are sure he will be growing when he gets his strength back up.

Here's the link again to his facebook page

They have named him Tiny Tim and are going to keep us updated with pictures and posts etc.

Thankfully this is one instance where common sense has prevailed over 'legislation' and 'procedure' xx

Feeling a bit less enthusiastic about the page now... After seeing a rather able display of 'people power' in getting that wee foalie moved to safety, it now seems to be a bitch fest about existing charities...

Ho hum... :(

I think that emotions are running high after a stressful night especially as so many people saw the condition poor Tiny Tim was in and had to listen to the RSPCA reasoning for leaving him where he was. People are frustrated and angry that a horse has to be beyond the point of help before such agencies will step in.

Not that I am condoning the b**** fest, just saying that it's an emotional situation all round especially in light of the recent media coverage the abandoned ponies in Dudley have been getting :(

I'm sorry i'm not sure who the real owner of the foal is, I think they're keeping that under wraps to prevent people from taking direct action against the owner (if you know what I mean)

Although I agree dealing with the traveller community can be tricky, the RSPCA need to do what they're paid to do; help endangered animals. It can't be that they only rescue those whose owners are non-threatening. The RSPCA should take appropriate action in involving the police.

All it takes for evil to prosper is for good people to stand idly by and do nothing.

Obviously I'm not suggesting individuals take on traveller gangs but the police are here to uphold our country's law, and the animal welfare act is a law. People's attitude's to dealing with 'less than desirable characters' needs to change as the longer their crimes go unpunished the more often they will commit them with no fear of retribution.

*stepping off my soapbox and putting it back under the sink**

Haha thanks :) It's not often I get on it but it's something I feel strongly about. Not just with the traveller community but criminals in general .... the country is too soft and people are reluctant to stand up for those who need help because they will receive no support from the law/government for doing so. xx
