TIPTON FOAL

I take back wat i said!!! Excellent news!!!! Lets see how the rspca handle the backlash on this one!

Well they're deleting all the facebook comments and wall posts that they can , but they're just making themselves more and more "enemies" especially horse wise and the word is gonna spread more and more.

There are so many charities I'd donate to before giving a penny to them these days!

Hopefully the R.E.A.R. page doesn't get too many abusive posts about the RSPCA or they might be able to lean on FB to get the page closed...

Tempers (understandably) run hot when everyone's emotions are stretched and are totally knackered too... :)

Defnitely! Especially with all the up and down information.

I don't dispute that we are better off with the RSPCA than without them a lot of the time but when they mess up they do it in style!

Not on REAR, on the RSPCA pages that people have been saying things, and they told the rescue centre that was maybe involved near the beginning to delete the posts about him.

Good Victoria :)

And they did... And posted that that was why they had...

I'm not sure what pressure could be brought by a charity to remove all posts relating to a welfare incident... Delete any abusive/incorrect stuff yes... But all and every reference?! Most odd...

The social workers of the animal kingdom... *Sometimes* dive in heavy handed when it's a tad unnecessary and keep a distance when they're really needed... :(

I'm interested how the REAR page is going to turn out, it's a great idea in principal and the log of everyone in the UK who has emergency transport and stables for rescues is a great idea.
If it carries on growing and does get charity status like intended it could be very useful and interesting.

Just hope it doesn't get too carried away 'cause in this foal's case he needed out of there tonight but most of the time, as much as it's annoying, we do need the RSPCA and police before anyone can do anything.

Totally agree...and if any screaming starts it'll get shut down PDQ...

Just saw a post that the RSPCA are following the foal to check out the premises he's en route to

RSPCA are useless.

We have 4 abandoned ponies on our yard, not seen owner in 6 weeks, one hasn't been mucked out in that long, stood in his own ****. YO is haying and watering him (Other 3 live out). RSPCA are not interested in the slightest.

I loose more and more faith in the RSPCA every time I see a story like this... thankfully the foal is fine and has a nice warm stable and a full belly to look forward to...

I agree am going to cancel my monthly dd tomorrow and go for world horse welfare instead I think

If you get the chance, let them know in a polite way exactly why you have decided to cancel and who you are going to be giving your donation to instead ;)

It is a wonderful idea and I also wish the group all the best for the future.

The concept of the RSPCA is a much needed one, however they have failed to deliver on their mandate time and time again :(
I wish we could have a police division set up to do what the RSPCA should, it would be a much better way to do things then have a police wannabe group not delivering.......

Ive no doubt that this poor foalie will b handed over to the rspca now. With all this publicity there is no way they will let him go with a "stranger" ( no disrespect. Im sure the lady whos gone for him is more competant than the rspca and would give him a much better home ) the rspca will now take all the glory

I can confirm that the colt had a good night in the families stable and was tucking into hay :)

Shame :(

I remember ringing the RSPCA about a swan with a fishing hook through its neck. They were barely interested and although we waited for hours no-one did come out. I was about 10 at the time and it never occurred to me to mention it to an adult so who knows what became of the poor bird.

*Chuckles*

I do love the cryptic nature of the RSPCA statement about this little fella...

Statement about Foal in Tipton

:)

Hmmm so the RSPCA will pay all vet bills and all care requirements to the Donna lady who actually went to collect the foal? Somehow I don't see that happening. The RSPCA need a good shake-up; they aren't the society they used to be.
