First attempt at proper changes (that being one single one lol!); after lots of preparation building up over several sessions, today he was doing walk>canter>walk>canter changing between canter and counter canter on a straight line varying the number of strides of each before doing lots of counter canter loops then asking for the change as he met the track on a change of rein.
Didn’t quite make the full change (changed beautifully in front, but was late behind), but was so pleased with his effort, and lack of over exuberance on either the front or hind end.
Bless him, he always tries sooo hard, even if he doesn’t always know where his feet are.
I’m counting down the days until I can get back on him (even if I am terrified of re-injury!)
