Titanium mask / Race hood - can the horse shake it off?

Hi, my horse is sound sensitive so I use an acoustic fly mask a lot, but he's just managed to shake his whole bridle off with it 🙈

Are the titanium mask / race hoods with soundproof ears better any staying put, does anyone know?

Was trying to avoid the batman look but will suck it up if it avoids a major wardrobe malfunction! 😆

Could you plait the acoustic fly mask into the mane?
I don't think the titanium mask could be shaked off as they're fitted pretty tight to perform their function, but they would make where the bridle sits slippier than if it were on skin just due to the material used, so it's not entirely risk free

The titanium hood, In my experience, can't be shaked/shaken? off. But ear hoods can. 😅. Never got off so fast in all my life. Love my Arab, who waited for me to refit bridle after happy post gallop head shake.🤣

The zilco one clips under the chin so won't come off easily. I left mine on in the stable today because there was building work going on and it turns out they can be taken off if you stand on the cornet of one ear and then rub your head enough 🙄

That's a good idea with the plait, at least for shows, thank you

If you look at the Harry Hall Protechmasta ones they have a Velcro bit that goes round the bridle by the browband. That and a plait you’d be sorted.

The fly hood was velcroed to the bridle when the whole bridle came off! Velcro will only stop the fly hood coming off alone, but doesnt stop the bridle coming too it seems.

I tie my ears on to my bridle with very small cable ties. You can't see them unless you look really closely!
The fly hood was velcroed to the bridle when the bridle came off! Maybe depends on bridle fit/horse poll shape? Never had it happen with my other horse.

My mare has fenwick liquid titanium fly ears and she’s never got them off - can toss her head quite a bit as well. Used to having to tie on the Lemieux ones with shoe laces so I love them. Would suspect bridle fit to be more of a problem than the ears.
