Titchy graze/wound in an awkward place

I cut Rew’s nails a couple of weeks ago, which is not unusual. Last weekend (so about a week later) I was at an agility training session and he pulled up short and on examination his off fore inside claw has rubbed a little sore on the adjacent toe. We obviously didn’t do anymore training and he has had a very lazy week mainly on the sofa! Other than keep an eye on it and rub a bit of Savlon on I’ve left it alone and he’s not bothering it. His lameness has gone, so today we went training again, this is agility skills on grass, so it is jumping (not full height) but not super fast. He has knocked the scab and is nodding again.

I can happily not do training or competing until he’s fully sorted, but how can I help it heal? I’ve learnt from my mistake and whenever I cut his nails in future (which is once or twice a week sometimes) I will dremel off any rough edges. I have Mushers and various ointments but I think I need to protect the graze somehow.

If I want something to stay moist (URGH) I use Botanica, if I want to dry something out I use wound powder. Finding it hard to visualise the location, do you want something to cover/seal the nail or the toe that the graze is on? In desperation with cuts on my dog's tiny feet I experimented with cutting up baby's socks, balloons and...erm...things that look like balloons (the latter categorically did not work)

Saline solution (I use the stuff from Boots for eyes, but it’s cheap and sterile), plus talcum powder or wound powder to stop it rubbing.

I’ll get some wound powder - I’ve always been very lucky with injuries, and the gundogs seem bullet proof. Rew has very little hair on his feet, no protection.

Are you sure the little cracks in his pad aren’t making him sore? Ffee gets cracked pads sometimes and it makes her terribly lame.

Yeah I have noticed those and adding Mushers to them too. Good job he’s tolerant of my mucking about with his feet!

Cream of choice, Baby sock, cut hole in baby sock to allow the nail that caused the rub to pop out and not be touching the wound. Keep a careful eye for the toe that rubbed against the other one isn't constricted by the sock in anyway.
