So yesterday we had Tivas results back and unfortunately it’s not what we hoped for. She has hemangiosarcoma which is cancer of the blood vessels and is quite aggressive. We were given the option of chemotherapy. After much deliberation and discussion with various people including vets and our breed health coordinator I have decided against chemo.
Tiva had come out of the surgery really well and is bouncing around again like a puppy. I know with this type of cancer she only had weeks to months so we are going to make the most of every moment.
I’m now planning a Tiva bucket list so we do all the things she loves doing whilst she still can.
Thank you everyone for all your positive thoughts and vibes, I’m sorry the news isn’t better but rest assured Tiva is very happy and comfortable at the moment.

Oh Satinblaze ? I am so very sorry to read this.... having lost Ace so recently I can imagine how you are feeling. My heart truly does go out to you, I hope you are able to have some wonderful moments with Tiva and can enjoy time with her before her time comes. I am really thinking of you now xxx

I am so sorry it was bad news .
I did not go with chemo when my lovely boy Issac became ill overnight at seven .
I had him for three days my lovely lovely friend a vet came with us to our caravan on the beach and managed him for pain he loved the beach I cuddled and cuddled him and we had little walks and a little swim on the Monday we went home and had a walk in the fields and then it was away in front of aga .
Enjoy the bucket list .

I’m so sorry to hear that news.
I hope the two of you make the most of your remaining time.
I think the bucket list sounds like a great idea.

I’m so sorry that the news was not better. I hope her last months with you are happy and carefree. Sending you my love.

Oh Satinbaze , I am sad to read this , this morning. I lost my first flatcoat before her time to bone cancer in the 1980s and Cambridge were already doing research into cancer in the breed as my dog’s xrays were sent there.
I am glad Tiva is happy for now and hope you have a wonderful time together xx

This is such sad news. I was really hoping that it would be the opposite. Enjoy every moment of loving her and her loving you. Dear sweet Tiva, I hope she remains happy and comfortable. FWIW, I'd make the same decision as you.

So sorry Satinbaze :( Enjoy your time with her to the max and agree with your decision.

One of my flatties had two biopsies done today as suspect he may also be suffering from the C word. If they come back positive he won't be undergoing treatment bar pain management if necessary. Sending flatties licks to Tiva.

Sending positive flatcoat vibes to your boy
