I seem to be the only person struggling with this-

if I tighten the front strap, the back gets extremely slack, if I tighten the back, the front goes slack and so on- until it’s just not level and probably too tight.
Am I doing something wrong?!

Did your last girth do the same?

Not an issue I've had with my tixerants but do have a sue Carson that has to be on different holes to be level. I'm sure that's the girth straps.

Now I have that exact issue with my Prolite, Harry Dabbs and Prestige but the Le Tixerant is the only one that doesn't do it. It must all be down to the shape of the horse vs the girth.

No- I’ve never had this with any girth before :-(

It's partly to do with where the girth sits - and the shape of the horse. The more forwards the girth groove, and the further back the back strap that you use, the more likely it is to have to do the girth up to different holes front and back. Aim for the most even tension, don't worry about the numbers. And the bigger the belly the more this is the case, AND you'll find the issue can be worse on one side, because most horses are rotated in the ribcage, and to the right (down on the offside) and pushes out on the left, you'll find the nearside commonly has more difference in the girth height than the offside.

Does this mean that I need to find another girth as it doesn’t fit his shape? :-(

No, you just need to tighten the girth straps to have as even tension as possible, treating each side individually. And try to reduce belly size and asymmetry
If I was to try a new girth, can you recommend any for a forward groove?
I loved my Stubben equisoft but he wasn’t ever Keen on it, he hated the wow freespace.
