Thanks a bunch, Iv now come home from a walk with my dog and her collar and face covered in your dogs poo..had to give her a bath which resulted in lots of mess and now I myself stink of your dogs poo too, and so does my clothes and bathroom. Is it really that hard for people to pick up after their dogs? Grrrrrrrrr

I dont know any dog that would roll in another dogs poo?

I know plenty of dogs who would happily roll around in poo.... even if it was other dogs poop.

katie_southwest, i 100% agree. It's disgusting and ridiculous. I am forever seeing dollops of poop that people havn't picked up. On the pavements is the worst. That is just utterly disgusting!

Yeah definately dog poo, the smell is lingering in the bathroom...ughhhhhh!
Oh well Il just have to keep her off the grass thats all while we are around this area, which is totally boring for her

Got to second that hollyf, I have never ever known of a dog which would roll in another dogs muck - fox/horse/cow/badger/cat then yes, lovely, but not another dogs

Anyway I know how you feel as my two roll in fox muck every time I take them to the yard - and that smells absolutely rank
crazy.gif

Now your making me think shes weird..but its definately dog muck - shes done it twice now
crazy.gif
Rubs her neck in it, someone said they have scent glands there?? I dunno. Partly my fault though, pottering not watching what she was doing
grin.gif

Oh well, every dog is different I suppose
smile.gif
I didnt realise about the scent glands in the neck but know my two always rub their necks in whatever they have found so it makes sense

Last time my lurcher came back with a green head after he had found horse muck in the field... he got hosed off at the yard before he went anywhere near my car
grin.gif

Haha I dont blame you, mine goes for a dip in the river before getting in the car - shes white too which doesnt help!
Yeah I didnt know about the glands either until someone said..

It's very strange that a dog would roll in another dogs poo!
The reason the roll in other animals poo is to cover up their own scent from animals they may be stalking.
Is she a Terrier type?

Stella loves a nice helping of goose poop or horse muck, but she finds dog faeces intolerable. She once stood in some and hopped around on three paws, looking absolutely disgusted with the situation.

I can believe, however, that some dogs will roll in it. After all, there are those dogs that will eat another dog's faeces

Dougaldog rolls in anything and everything. When he was a pup he went through 5 collars due to his love of rolling on dog pooh.

Well, after a storm we had no electricity or running water for three days in my part of Ghotenburg some years ago, luckily we had filled a large container with water after hearing the storm might come our way. So the day after the storm, when one of my dogs rolled herself in HUMANpoo, I could heat up water on our campingkitchen and wash her.

It does annoy me though when others doesn't pick up their dogs poo, but my BIG hate object, is the humans leaving crushed glass. If they can't be bothered with carrying the EMPTY bottle home, okay, but WHY do they have to crush them? And I would specially like to know the IQ of the people leaving the crushed glass scattered below the poobag/garbage cans?

from Sweden.

Exactly! I can bath my dog and its gone, if that was a child playing on the grass it would not be such a happy ending

and can I just say to the person (incase they are an avid forum user) that keeps letting their dog crap at the front of my drive so I either drive in it, walk in it and god forbid if my 3 yr old son ever fell in it, if I ever find out whch house you actually live at, I will personally drop your poo off, including my 2 dogs and my horses as well and if you catch me on a bad day you might well end up with my whole muck heap!!!!

OOOHHHH, you hit a nerve then. I hate it!

I'll tell you what i find more annoying than that.....when i see plastic bags full of dog poo hung on trees or thrown in a bush while im out on a walk, obviously the result of dog owners who want to "look" like they clean up after themselves but as soon as they are out of sight ditch the bag!!

At the end of the day i think that it is worse than just leaving the poo to bio-degrade, but your right it is better to poop and scoop (as long as you intend on putting the bag in the poo bin!)

I too have westie who loves to coat his neck in poo but of the fox variety, he also seems discusted with himself after :-) hehe.

I've left a poo bag in a corner somewhere and then picked it up on the way back - just so I din't have to carry it for the whole walk!

Star and Alfie like to role in a bit of fox poo - dogs are quite minging really aren't they!!!!

My Lurcher used to roll in foxes but grew out of it, think it was a confidence thing when she was a pup. Apparently, tomato juice is good at removing the smell as my cousins out in Canada have problems with their dogs getting squirted by Skunks which is ten times worse than a fox!
They all have cartons of tomato juice ready incase, a foxes smell is a "lesser" skunk smell and is supposed to work if you apply liberal amounts of tomato juice, suppose it's the acid in it kills the smell?
I haven't actually tried it but my staff x lab has started to take a liking to foxes muck so I might be trying it in the near future!
