Would you bath this weekend e.g. Monday ?? Pony is really itchy round his withers where his rugs are rubbing his main away, is very scurffy and he really enjoyed good scratch earlier, which made my hand black !!!

Was thinking a nice scrub and bath would help ? Would you ?
He is nacked at day, light weight at night

I think I'd bath in this weather...as long as they're dry before it gets cooler in the eve.

Summer's on the way!!

Well i bathed my clipped tb yesterday after i had ridden and used warm water with shampoo in and lathered her up, then i put the cold hose on her. She didnt mind at all and dried off really quickly and even after her bath she went out ( once dried ) nude and is nude today.

She loved it !!!.

I say go for it, your pony will probably really enjoy it.

my horse has a some lumps on his back and when my friend looked yesterday she noticed it was a bit scabby.first thought was saddle rubbing him but friend thought it could be a reaction to his sweat or something so my neddy had a rinse with hibi scrub and sponge after id ridden him then the hose pipe to wash off.

was from a cold hose pipe... he didnt seem to mind and actually quite liked his back being scrubbed and the cold water so id say go for it im sure he will enjoy it if hes feeling itchy

it was actually warmer in the field out in the sun that in the stable so i put him staright out and he was still happily muching grass, sunbathing and looking content when i left

Yes took advantage of this lovely warm day and bathed both of my stallions.
Stood there in the sunshine loving every minute.

I did pickle today to try and make him a bit more comfy and he absulutely loved all the attention, particulary as all the "own a pony for a day" kids were "helping" me. He loved the attention and then dried quite quickly in the sun go for it

I did mine today after my lesson, she was filthy after being out rugless and we have a dressae competition tomorrow. I just used cold water and then walked her round a bit, she went a bit nutty but her coat dried really quickly in the sun.

mine came back from hacking today pretty warm and I put the hose on her then quickly decided to give her a bath so ran and grabbed the shampoo... It was a snap decision as she was warm and the yard was really sunny.

She seemed ok with it and dried off really quickly. (She is fully clipped btw). I would say if you have a nice sunny yard or access to warm water, you'd be fine.

I had to bath again this eve! My mare who hates mud even in the winter was nude again and found a dirty dusty patch to roll in and came is DISGUSTING.

It was the type of dusty dirt that keeps surfacing so i had to re bath her and section her mane for palitting for dressage in the morning.

She still dried quite quickly this eve and i put her to bed at about 7.30 and rugged her in layers to dry while i did her mane. She just carried on eating then the cold hose went on her.

Why do they always do that right before a comp?

Snowy has had he second bath in the last few days today, but that is because he's lousey

I probably wouldn't have bathed him otherwise though, but then mine live out, so I don't like stripping the coat of oils anyway...

I did one of mine yesterday, he threw a hissy fit because he hates being bathed and was shivering when i had finished, not because its cold, but because hes a pansy, he even does it in REALLY hot summer days some times. I obviously wacked a cooler on him till he was dry.
