I bought my horse in to ride this morning, and although he trotted over for his breakfast earlier ok, and was sound when ridden yesterday, was uncomfortable on his near front foot on the yard. He is bearing weight on it but would say is noticeably lame. He was moved onto a new paddock yesterday, which is quite hilly, so just wondering if he has slipped/strained something in the excitement of the move, as the grass was very wet.
There are no visible lumps or bumps, or heat, and he has showed no reaction to the hoof testers.
I have the farrier coming on Tues, and will speak to my vet tomorrow too, but in the meantime is he best on box rest or turned back out whilst I wait for somone to come and look at him?
What would you guys do?
Thanks
