tb that grows a woolly mamoth coat in winter is starting to get hairy, and is getting sweated up in this wether. I also have a hunter trial next weekend.

He is still living out 24/7. Should I clip him or not? I have a 100g t/o with neck rug ready to go on him?

Clip - it will make him a lot more comfortable next week.

You could do a blanket or trace, and then he would be fine out in the field in this weather with no rug, and a light rug at night if still mild or warmer rug if it gets chilly/wet.

You can then clip again November or whenever he next needs it. I am about to clip one of mine this weekend that has suddenly turned into a wooly mammoth!

Frank will be getting a blanket clip tommorrow, still out 24/7 but will rug him to keep him dry and then middleweight at night when it gets a bit colder.

Its always a problem when we get this late burst of sunshine in september.

my very hairy ISH had a little clip yesterday as she was getting uncomfortable when ridden, as long as you have rugs I say clip they will be so much more comfortable for it
