Baby horse is currently very hairy and getting hot when worked, now on 20 mins lunging each day following back op, YO says not to clip and leave hairy so he'll tire more quickly and thus when I finally plant my bum back in the saddle on him he'll be chilled however my quandry is that he may lose condition (as he's finally put weight on for the first time in his life) if he continues to get v.hot. I will also have much more of a choice of rugs to put on him if he's bald.
He's sharp no matter furry or bald, what do ya'll think?
Plus forgot to add he's missing a huge oblong of his hair on his back due to the op (about 1 1/2ft long and ten inches wide and various other clipped bits on neck and face (looks a bit like patchwork ned!)
