Following on from Jane_Lou's post in the other thread, Candy has now been handed over to Zalacca and is spending a few hours in a heated dog bed in Zalacca's office before heading off home :D

She is a lovely lovely dog, taking everything in her stride with a wagging tail and happy attitude :) I have ordered Zalacca to post some pics when she can :D

A HUGE thank you to Jane_Lou for doing the worst part of it, it must have been horrible :( The scum who were looking to rehome her had had her a whole week before deciding she wasnt for them :o - and had gone out yesterday and got a younger Staffy to replace her :mad::mad:

Some people should not be allowed to reproduce OR own animals of any kind :mad::mad::mad:

Poor poor dog :( Im so so pleased she is now safely with Zalacca and has a decent bed to call her own for the rest of her days. :) Well done to everyone.

Well done to everyone. No doubt the new staffie will be looking for a home shortly :(

Well done to everyone who helped, there are some amazing women on this forum.

Well done all concerned. Can't say I'm surprised they went out and got another. It happens all the time. :( Lucky for Candy shame for the poor creatures that will follow in her footsteps. Lets just hope there are people to save them too.

Where had she come from originally then???

Aaaaargh cant remember the place she came from! Jane_Lou was going to do some investigations and see if she could find out more. Candy seems to be in really good health - great teeth, slightly overweight (but I must remember she isnt a greyhound :D) - she has obviously been looked after at some stage :o

Alas these particular scum have already reproduced - twice!

I still feel the need to have a good shower after being in the house for 5 minutes - only the lack of heating is currently keeping me out of my somewhat arctic bathroom!

When they told me they had only had her a week I was horrified, to then go on and tell me they had got the staffie yesterday to replace her

They gave me a broken lead and I was a little shocked to find the front door closed the minute I was outside with her - they didn't even come to the car

I got her in the car and cried - the poor girl, what she has gone through in the last week at her age should never be allowed to happen.

She sat on the back seat of the car from Amersham to Witney looking out of the windows and every now and again would appear looking at me in the rear view mirror, I swear she was smiling - I kept telling her she was going to a lovely new home and I like to think she understood. :)

She came from Rickmansworth - I have scoured Freeads and Preloved and can't find anything - maybe someone on here has some more suggestions of where to look? I did ask for the name and number of the previous owner but she has aparently lost it :o I doubt the full story will ever be known, I would wonder about the person who let them have this dog in the first place - a 1st floor council flat is hardly a suitable place for any dog, let alone an older dog with slightly stiff back legs.

Argh, don't, you're making me go all wibbly! :o I would take them all if I could, just to see that face when they know they're home and safe. :(

She travelled just as well between Witney and Gloucester Jane_Lou, she is a little angel isnt she :):) She never made a peep all the way, and popped into Zalacca's car as if she knew it well :):)

I am also NOT misting up, because I am a rock hard lobbyist with a heart of solid granite, and I do NOT get fluffy about these things **sniffle**

I can't tell you guys how happy I am that I posted the advert yesterday, i've got a tear in my eye reading this after getting in from work. Soooooooo glad she has a new home now where she will be treated properly. Looking forwards to pictures..

*blub* Not ashamed to admit it. SO pleased she's safe now. She didn't deserve that, poor old girl. What on earth were her previous owners thinking?? I wonder if it's worth getting her scanned for a microchip...? If she's been well loved in the past, maybe someone got her through unscrupulous means....

Can't wait to see piccies of her :D

Well I'm not ashamed to admit to a tear. Thank heavens you posted that ad Bens Mum. At sometime that poor bitch must have been somebodies much loved pet surely, she didn't deserve this, but what an amazing happy ending. Well done all of you.

So pleased, lovely story that Candy has found her forever home. Iam sure I wasn't alone in phoning up about her, but something daft was happening to their phone so never got through to anyone.
Looking forward to hearing much more about her - and seeing photos of course!!

YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!

Am also a bit misty eyed thinking of that lovely doggy face watching out the windows and wondering where she may be going but recognising that she is with a "proper" human and knowing in her little dog heart that things are on the up <<sniffs and wipes tear from eye..... :D:D

Aw you lot do know how to make someone go all warm and fuzzy  :) I really admire everyone who got up and did something for this poor dog. Happy retirement Candy!

Fantastic news, what a team - BensMum. Jane Lou, CareyR and Zalacca :D You all restore faith in the human nature. Hope Zalacca will find some time to let us know how they are getting on. My feeling is that this dog is SO lucky that she has found her way to what is obviously going to be a wonderful home compared to the place she came from. Well done you all:D

Don't often venture in AAD but just wanted to say everyone you guys rock! I've just read the other thread and it was like reading a good book, I was willing you guys to give her a home and as per usual HHO comes up trumps :D So very pleased for Candy and wish her a long and happy retirement, as for the scum who have just replaced her I think others have already said what I feel and so I won't say anymore....

Photos please!!!!
