Due to not going to show, I asked a local Show pony producer to come and see the boyo and she loved him- said he was 'true to type' but refined enough to put to show pony mares. She said if I wanted to sell she would buy him. (I dont want to sell) and a girl from the local equine college has said she pulling out of our class in a fortnight as she hasnt got a hope in hell of getting placed against him- all comments have been favourable, he trots, walks and canters fantastically ver straight and open- however - the last few weeks he has become difficult - hes started nipping occasionally - and I do mean occasionally, but he does a lot of head tossing which is irritating when your trying to put a headcollar on, and kicking the door and pawing at the door/floor of his stable, calling out to the others etc and Im wonding if he sould be gelded purely for ease of management? We have a show on the 21st which is a qualifier for the Royal London and The Amateur Showing Society, and depending how he fares I think I will have him cut. If he gets placed/qualifies I'll keep him entire but if not I think he'll be done October when the fly numbers/heat is reduced. Would you say this is the best way to decide?
