So I'm looking to do some local shows with my 4 year old, probably starting next year as I've been too busy with uni this summer. I have two problems, 1. I don't know what classes to do with her. 2. I'm not sure what to do with her mane, tail, feathers etc.

I'll try and find a few recent photos of her. I've had mixed opinions from friends so I would just like to hear what you guys think as I've not got much experience with showing.

If the photo links don't work, could someone inform me of how to upload photos straight into this? I'm new haha.

You don't give her height but at a guess she is a part welsh cob and around 15 hands, sorry if that is way out, she should not be hogged as she is not a show cob and unlikely to build up into one, I would turn her out trimmed, pulled and plaited, she will look much smarter with a tidy up, at local level she could do RC horse, possibly small hunters or workers if she jumps, as well as ridden pb classes if she is pb welsh cob.

Pulled, plaited and feathers off so a really nice part bred type. A local level just about anything that takes your fancy as most classes tend to be very loosely defined. I cannot tell from the photos if she would go a lot further so just have fun and if she wins a lot then step up the standard of class to see how she does

definitely don't hog, she is not the type. I would pull mane and plait , trim length off tail and plait and trim off feathers.. maybe leave feathers if you are showing in part bred m & m classes. riding club level you could do almost anything for a bit of fun, she looks like a good allrounder, is she welsh?

Sorry yeah I meant to say! She's currently standing about 15.1hh :)
She's not welsh as far as I know, unfortunately we're not 100% on her breeding, all I know is that her father was a gypsy cob and her mother was a trotter.. Although I'm not 100% convinced about that.
I'm sorry this is all very vague, this is the only information we have. Thanks for your thoughts I think that's what I'll do :) her manes quite thin (apart from her forelock) so it'll be easy enough and really she's not got much feather. Her tail however is verging on unmanageable haha!

Dont leave her feather if you pull and plait her it needs trimming off tail needs banged at the bottom about 4inches below the hock when held over your arm at the dock and the top either pulled (desirable) or plaited if you can do it really neatly. Part bred natives/M&M are shown like hunters and riding ponies fully plaited and trimmed.

okay, I'll give it a go! she's rubbed the majority of the top of her tail off so I think I'll pull rather than plait, I do have people at the yard who are fab at plaiting tails but I'm useless!
